Clearwire Rover 4G Mobile Broadband Service

Clearwire has officially launched its new pay-as-you-go 4G mobile broadband plan aimed at phone users looking for high speed mobile internet access without a contract.

Unlimited data plans with Clearwire’s Rover service cost $50 per month, $20 per week or $5 a day. Rover is available in all 49 Clearwire 4G phone markets.

Users can connect to 4G by using the Rover Puck hotspot or the Rover Stick USB modem.

Sprint 4G Increases Coverage Area

Sprint 4G has once again extended the coverage area of its 4G phone network – this time to densely populated areas of California, Delaware, Florida and Michigan.

Sprint’s latest 4G markets are Modesto and Stockton in California, Jacksonville, Florida, Wilmington, Delaware and Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The total number of cities and markets that Sprint 4G is available is now 48, with more launches planned for later this year.

Sprint 4G in Salt Lake City & St. Louis

Sprint has added to its list of cities and markets with 4G phone coverage by launching their 4G network in Salt Lake City and St. Louis.

Sprint is also due to launch 4G in a number of other markets in the near future.

The list of upcoming 4G rollouts include Los Angeles, San Francisco and Boston.

Sweden – 4G in 100 Cities

Mobile phone companies in Sweden are pushing ahead with their 4G rollout and bringing 4G to 100 cities in Sweden.

In addition to Stockholm, the new 4G network will be available in Gothenburg, Malmo, Karlskrona and Lund by the end of this year. Other Swedish cities will follow until 99% of the Swedish population can access 4G coverage by 2013.

The network is a joint operation between Tele 2 and Telenor and based on LTE, rather than WiMAX technology.

Clearwire 4G Launches in New York, California, Oregon

Clearwire has extended its 4G phone network to areas of New York, California and Oregon – meaning 44 markets can now access its 4G network.

The newly activated markets are: Rochester and Syracuse, New York, Merced and Visalia California and Eugene, Oregon.

Clearwire says a number of major markets are due for a 4G network launch later this year, including New York City.

Sprint 4G Launch in Richmond, Salt Lake City and St. Louis

Sprint has expanded its growing 4G phone network with launches in Richmond, Salt Lake City and St. Louis.

The new 4G coverage areas mean the Sprint network is now available in 36 markets across the US including Atlanta, Honolulu, Maui, Chicago, Baltimore, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Dallas / Fort Worth, Houston and Salt Lake City.

The Sprint 4G phone network is also expected to launch later this year in Boston, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and Washington D.C.

4G New York, LA and San Francisco

Looks like the promised expansion of the Sprint and Clearwire 4G phone networks to New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco is starting to get underway.

A number of mobile phone users with a Sprint EVO 4G are reporting notifications on their handsets that a “4G network is available”.

It’s still early days – and we’ve yet to hear of anyone able to actually make use of the new LA, San Francisco or New York 4G network – but the technology boys and girls at Sprint & Clearwire are obviously working on it.

Clear 4G Baltimore – New & Improved

Clearwire has upgraded and improved its Clear 4G phone network for Baltimore.

The Clear 4G Baltimore coverage area now covers 725 square miles and around 1.7 million people in the Baltimore metro area.

The updated 4G network now extends as far as Bel Air, Annapolis, Columbia, Owings Mills, Dundalk and Essex.
