LG LD 100U 4G Data Card – First Look
Mobile phone company, LG Electronics, has been showing off some of its new toys at the CES show in Las Vegas this week.
One of the most interesting devices shown by LG is the LD 100U, a 4G / LTE data card. The device was used to demo real time streaming on HD videos, video conferencing and web surfing at speeds of around 100 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload – that’s fast enough to download an entires DVD to your 4G phone in less than a minute.
4G Sierra Wireless Data Card
Reports are surfacing that a new 4G wireless data card from Sierra Wireless will be coming to Sprint 4G.
The new device reportedly supports up to five users via Wi-Fi with a range of 100 feet and a built in SD card slot which will be available to any of those five users – a nifty bit of 4G phone kit that should be available from Sprint in February.
Sprint Introduces 4G Modem for Mac
Sprint 4G customers will soon have access to a Mac friendly 4G modem. The U301 3G / 4G WiMax modem will bring the world of 4G internet to Apple Mac Snow Leopard users for the first time.
Inside Sprint 4G coverage areas users can expect speeds of 3-6 Mbps. Outside 4G areas, 3G speeds of around 0.6 – 1.4 Mbps can be expected. The Sprint U301 modem will be an upgrade of the current U300 which has been available to PC users for some time. Other features include a new sleek black design and a rotating USB connector for ease of use in cramped spaces.
Sprint Announce 4G Modem – Motorola CPEi25150
Sprint have just announced the availability of the Motorola CPEi25150 4G modem. Said to be around ten times as fast as a standard 3G modem, mobile customers can grab it for $99.99 with a two year subscription and rebate.
Sprint claims average speeds for the Motorola modem of 3-6Mbps inside Sprint 4G coverage areas.
Sprint 4G USB Modem
Sprint 4G’s first dual mode 3G/4G USB modem will be released on December 21.
The Sprint U300 USB modem will allow mobile users to connect to the Sprint 4G network where available and to the current EV-O network in those areas where 4G isn’t yet available.
Expected price is $149.
Samsung 4G USB Modem Coming
The world’s number one mobile phone manufacturer, Samsung, says it’s signed a deal to supply fourth generation phone technology to TeliaSonera, the largest mobile company in Northern Europe. The company will make 4G USB data modems.
TeliaSonera is expected to commercially launch it’s 4G phone plans next year in Sweden and Norway.
