Sprint 4G Data Plans Will Cost More For HTC EVO
HTC EVO 4G phone users will be charged an extra $10 a month for their mobile data plans, according to Sprint.
The extra charge is on top of the standard mobile data plan costs. Sprint says the charge is being made because 4G phone users likely to consume much more bandwidth and data than regular users. But Sprint spokesperson John Taylor admitted on his blog that the charge will not just be for those using the HTC EVO in a 4G coverage area – it’s specific to the device, regardless of whether 3G or 4G is being used.
He added, “Because the phone has a faster processor, a huge 4.3 inch screen and an 8 megapixel camcorder / camera, we expect you will be using a lot more data than you would with our other devices. These features will give you capabilities that have previously never been available on a wireless device and we think they provide a premium experience. (Remember, this is the world’s first 3G / 4G Android phone.)”.
