New 4G Mobile Hotspot from Time Warner Cable

Time Warner Cable has teamed up with Sierra Wireless to launch IntelliGo, a 4G WiFi mobile hotspot for use with its Road Runner Mobile service.

IntelliGo allows any device with WiFi connectivity to connect to Time Warner Cable’s 4G phone network. The mobile hotspot can be used by up to five devices simultaneously at download speeds of up 6 Mbps.

Road Runner Mobile is currently available in 17 markets with a 4G service due to launch this year in New York, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Boston, Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Los Angeles.

4G New York & Kansas City – Coming This Summer

Mobile phone operators Clearwire, Sprint and Time Warner Cable have all announced plans to bring 4G phone services to parts of New York and Kansas City this summer.

No firm date has been announced for the 4G launch in Rochester and Syracuse, New York and Kansas City.

Sprint will offer its 4G network as Sprint 4G while the Time Warner Cable offering will be under its Road Runner Mobile plan.

Time Warner 4G Launches Business Class Mobile

Time Warner Cable has launched Business Class Mobile its 4G high speed wireless data service for business customers.

The service – initially available in Texas but with other phone markets coming later in the year – offers business users 4G speeds for data connections while on the road and is aimed at making downloading large files, access to intranet sites and customer relationship management tools easier and to help businesses eliminate the extra costs of using WiFi access in a variety of locations.

Business Class Mobile gives users download speeds of up to 6 Mbps within Time Warner Cable 4G phone areas and 3G network access elsewhere.

Time Warner Launches 4G in Austin, Texas

Time Warner Cable now offers its “five times faster than 3G” 4G phone network in Austin, Texas.

The company says download speeds are comparable to its home broadband service Road Runner High Speed. The new 4G service costs $29.99.

Time Warner 4G is also available in Dallas, San Antonio, Wichita Falls, Corpus Christi and Charlotte, North Carolina.

4G Road Runner in Maui

The 4G Road Runner Mobile network from Time Warner Cable is now up and running in Maui.

Road Runner Mobile is intended as a complimentary service to Road Runner High Speed Online and includes a full security suite, email, data storage for $34.95 per month for Time Warner Cable Triple Play customers.

Time Warner claims a download speed of 6Mbps for the new 4G phone network.

Time Warner – 4G in Dallas from December 1

Time Warner Cable will officially launch its new Dallas 4G phone network on December 1.

The first mobile plan available will be Road Runner Mobile – offering mobile broadband access from $44.99 per month with speeds of up to 6 Mbps.

Time Warner Cable will launch Road Runner Mobile in San Antonio and Austin in early 2010. Other soon to be activated 4G coverage areas include Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro in North Carolina and Honolulu and Maui.

Three 4G Mobile Networks for Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh

Time Warner Cable will launch its 4G mobile network in Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh on December 1. The service will be available to all areas of the Triangle – including Raleigh, Durham, Cary and Chapel Hill.

Sprint is also racing to win 4G customers in the Raleigh-Durham area – it also has a launch planned for around the same date.

Still not enough choice? Clear – the company providing the 4G coverage for all these launches – will rollout its own Clear 4G service at the same time.

Dallas 4G

Time Warner is now providing a 4G phone service using WiMAX technology for Dallas, Texas.

Glenn Britt, Time Warner’s Cable Chief Executive Officer, said the new 4G network felt, “very promising” and added that Time Warner hopes to launch 4G in North and South Carolina soon.
